This 'Healing Hands Art Watercolor Canvas Print' taps into the tradition of the healers among us and celebrates it.
On this piece you can see a woman who is laid out flat on her front, and receiving good energy from the healing hands (shown as glowing with a white aura) of a healer.
You can think of this in quite a number of ways.
You could think of it as a Reiki treatment, where the practitioner moves their hands all over the body (though seldom touching you, or if they do only lightly). This is often thought of as a kind of energy work, where the Reiki practitioner is manipulating your subtle energy. This can take quite a few different forms, often starting with raising energy up through the chakra system (typically up from Muladhara Chakra - the root chakra, or Svadhisthana, the sexual chakra; because the energy is often more abundant in those areas then it is in the higher chakras).
Then, using that energy to help to build-up and sustain the other five chakras (this also happens with tantric massage, where the healer is coming from a place of love and attempting to almost psychically bathe the recipient in that love whilst massaging them).
In most traditional seven-chakra systems these are: (From top to bottom)
Sahasrara (Crown - Highest spiritual centre - located at the top of the head)
Ajna (Mental power - located in the middle of the forehead or between the eyebrows)
Vishuddha (Concerned with feelings about space and time - located at the throat)
Anahata (heart chakra - union of male and female energy - located in the heart)
Manipura (willpower - located just above the navel)
Svadhishthana (sexual energy - located around the genital area)
Muladhara (root chakra - basic survival needs - located around the base of the spine)
So, while some forms of healing can seem esoteric. In reality, there is often quite a logical process in play.
The healer is sensing where he/she thinks you are abundant in energy, where you are lacking, and then attempts to visualise those energies as flowing between the different areas, with them as a sort of conduit, or facilitator of that movement of energy.
In a way it is a bit like a canoeist travelling down a fast flowing river.
The energy is actually mostly in the river. Not in the canoeist.
But by making subtle movements of the paddle that canoeist is able to traverse the fast-flowing river in a very controlled, but dynamic way.
As they harness natures energy (the flowing water), a good canoeist can make it seem effortless.
So too it is in healing traditions.
The laying on of the hands is a very common way of trying to manipulate subtle energies. But it doesn't have to just be Reiki.
In reality, lots of 'mainstream' healing work, such as massage, chiropractic manipulations, or deep-tissue work (like trigger-point therapy for example), work through the medium of the hands.
They are more 'obvious', because the healer, the practitioner is actually touching you, and using pressure between his/her hands and your body, to carry out the healing work.
But importantly, it's still really the same 'healing hands' that are in action.
They are simply touching you, so it's more obvious :-)
In any case, regardless of what you are comfortable believing, if you are a healer of any kind, then this canvas is for you.
Healing is really about energy transfer.
Healing someone is a type of love transfer.
So, a healer of any kind (be they a Doctor, Nurse, Reiki Practitioner, Masseuse, Chiropractor or something else) is really imparting good energy in a way that helps the other person.
So, it's really a great thing, and definitely worth celebrating on your walls!
Sometimes I think it's nice to be reminded of that. So, my goal with this canvas is to do exactly that.
This would look great on the wall of your home (or as a gift for someone you know who helps others), or if you are a healer of any kind, and offer your services, then what better canvas to have on your walls where your clients can see it!
