Goldfish are the party animals of the marine world.

I have no concrete proof of this, and it may be just the effect of subliminal advertising placed cleverly somehow in 'Finding Nemo', but I do nevertheless think it is true.

So, anyway, in this one our 'party' goldfish (all dressed very colourfully I might add, because that's what you need to do folks if you get invited to a party!) are partying away.

Now, clearly, as the title of this wall art print is 'Last Dance of the Goldfish', you can have a pretty good guess that it's not all sunshine and roses!

Anyhow, lots going on in this one.

  • The smoking fires of climate change rising to create the greenhouse gases that you can see in the sky.
  • The castles of our predilections for bumping off all the animals slowly sinking into the sands, because it doesn't really have a firm foundation in sanity.
  • The seas drained of their vibrancy and replaced with our rubbish and the desert-like sands of seas emptied of marine life
  • The exodus of butterflies and other creatures to smaller and smaller patches of planet where they can still exist without human intervention.
  • The dancing Goldfish flinging themselves into the air to feel the momentary rush of freedom, before landing in the ever more polluted puddles of our oceans.

Oh yep.

And there is a duck!

No deep meaning for the duck.

I just figure no picture is really complete without a duck!

Duck art.

I am contemplating either:

1/ Becoming a duck artist to the stars.
2/ Putting a duck in every picture from here on out.

Honestly, I think I'm onto a winner, with that idea.

Anyway, remember to stay cheerful!

P.S.
There is a beautiful book called 'As A Man Thinketh' written in 1903 by a chap called James Allen that offers us a Hopeful assessment of the possibilities to avert destruction.

You can read it all on Project Gutenberg for free here.

Here is a section from it to reflect on when it comes to both the highs and the lows of the state of humanity:

Man is made or unmade by himself; in the armoury of thought he forges the weapons by which he destroys himself; he also fashions the tools with which he builds for himself heavenly mansions of joy and strength and peace. By the right choice and true application of thought, man ascends to the Divine Perfection; by the abuse and wrong application of thought, he descends below the level of the beast. Between these two extremes are all the grades of character, and man is their maker and master.

Of all the beautiful truths pertaining to the soul which have been restored and brought to light in this age, none is more gladdening or fruitful of divine promise and confidence than this - that man is the master of thought, the moulder of character, and the maker and shaper of condition, environment, and destiny.

As a being of Power, Intelligence, and Love, and the lord of his own thoughts, man holds the key to every situation, and contains within himself that transforming and regenerative agency by which he may make himself what he wills.

Man is always the master, even in his weaker and most abandoned state; but in his weakness and degradation he is the foolish master who misgoverns his "household." When he begins to reflect upon his condition, and to search diligently for the Law upon which his being is established, he then becomes the wise master, directing his energies with intelligence, and fashioning his thoughts to fruitful issues.

I wish wisdom for us all in averting climate destruction!
