Yak Wall Art - Brooding Yak on a Bad Hairday Watercolor Canvas Print

Regular price $ 99.99

In this 'Yak Wall Art - Brooding Yak on a Bad Hairday Watercolor Canvas Print' we can see a rather broody looking bovine, NOT on one of his good hairdays!

Still, they are incredibly impressive animals to look at!

In fairness (regarding his golden brown locks), it's not as though he is sunning himself in the Hollywood Hills, drinking Pina Coladas and wondering when he should have his next manicure.

(Incidentally, if you DO like Pina Coladas, then watch out for the calories! I discovered that a mix of pineapple juice, rum and coconut cream can have up to 650 calories PER DRINK! That is about a third of the average persons calorie intake every day. Is that why our Yak is fat? (You may ask). No idea. Sorry)

Things are tricksier for our good friend, because in all the places that he hangs out, not only does he NOT get to hang out with the Kardashians (or drink Pina Coladas most likely). He also has to contend himself with places that are mighty cold. In such conditions having a lot of hair is definitely more important then how you keep it trimmed.

(Though, honestly. I do wonder how these guys see where they are going? I mean. They ALWAYS have hair directly over their eyes, so they must be spending 90% of the time feeling around with their hooves!)

Yaks are actually related to cattle, though when clever scientists have looked at their genetic makeup, it actually isn't clear how we have arrived at the creature we see today. There is a suggestion that they have closer links to Bison, which sort of makes sense, as they do resemble them more closely ( though, that isn't always a good guide. Some scientific studies have concluded that humans and cows have about 80% of genes that are similar. So, it's far from clear cut.)

Anyhow, what we see is mighty impressive! They can reach weights of up to 2,200 pounds (1000kg). Unlike cows, yaks do NOT moo! They actually grunt. Which sort of comes back to the title of this piece of art, 'Yak Wall Art - Brooding Yak on a Bad Hairday Watercolor Canvas Print'. I should probably have called him 'Grunting Yak'. But that doesn't seem as accurate, or poetic.  He seems 'broody' to me. As though he is deep in thought and contemplating the day ahead.

He would like great on your walls! That much is absolutely certain, because he would look great on anyone's walls!

Behind him you can see a sort of mixed blue sky, with hints of red. And he is grazing on the grass, which is actually more abundant then he would probably be used too, as much of the time, mountain living is hard-going when it comes to foraging for food.

Give him a home on your walls and feel pleased every morning when you see him that someone in your home has worse 'morning hair' than you do!
